Scuba Dive in Andros Island
Scubandros Dive Center opened in 2010, by divers and lovers of the sea, with sense of responsibility to the environment and to the community. Diving vacations at the island of Andros are magical. It’s the northernmost and second larger island of Cyclades with a coastline of 176 km. The crystal clear waters of Andros are full of fascinating aquatic life, making it the perfect place for diving vacations.
The proximity of Andros from the port of Rafina in Athens has established it as one of the best places for a diving escape or long holidays. Its connection with other islands in the Cyclades makes it an ideal adventure spot.
Our experienced instructor makes a short briefing on what to expect and on the few simple skills needed to dive safely, such as mask clearing, equalizing your ears to the water pressure, regulator usage, proper fin kicking and basic hand signals. The instructor also provides all the basic scuba gear you’ll use, which is well maintained every year.
The gear includes a mask, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, wetsuit, dive gauges and a tank. Let the dive begin! In no more than 30 feet (10 meters) deep in crystal clear warm waters, you discover what it is like to breathe underwater for the first time. Admire the marine life, consisting of eels, octopuses, sea basses, breams and schools of a wide variety of Mediterranean fish and lots of macro creatures.
All beginners dive in small groups of no more than six divers per Instructor, so that personalized attention is given to each one. All divers are DAN insured. Last but not least, our crew also holds an underwater camera and, if you wish, makes sure that all your memories are recorded and given to you at the end of the dive – free of charge.
