Serifos is located near Sifnos and Kythnos and is well known for its excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. It is a barren, mountainous island with a few fertile plains and is considered to be the mythical place of Perseus.

Serifos is an island of Aegean Sea and belongs to the Cycladic Archipelago. The capital of the island is Chora (or Serifos). The island has been built at an altitude of 200m.
Seaport of Serifos is Livadi and other seasides are Koutalas, Megalo Livadi and Kentarchos. It’s surface reaches 75,207 square kms and the length of its sore is of 83 kms.Serifos was known in ancient times (6TH century B.C.) for its mining industry.
In the mid 19th century the activity flourished again and in 1916 an association was founded which established the eight hour shift after stubborn and bloody struggles of the miners. In 1963 the mines stopped production.
