Sikinos Ferry Tickets
Sikinos is located between the islands of Ios and Folegandros and is one of the smaller islands in the Cyclades with fewer than 300 residents and only 15 km of road network.
Traditional, without taxis, with popular and organized beaches, it offers a unique sense of tranquility and calmness. The original country is built on the edge of a cliff, at an altitude of 280 meters, and consists of two districts, Kastro (castle) and Chora (village).
Filled with scents of fresh thyme and basil, paths, churches and whitewashed houses with beautiful courtyards, Sikinos will take you to another time.
Visit the church of Panagia Pentocharas, dedicated to the memory of the great poet Odysseus Εlytis and the monastery of Zoodochos Pigis at the top of the hill. The beaches of the island have crystal clear waters.
Start from the sandy beach of Alopronias, where the excursion boats start from, then go to Dialiskari, Agios Georgios, Agios Panteleimonas, Santorineika and Mavro Lithari.
Before leaving the island, taste the delicious specialties and local products, such as salad with local capers, stuffed lamb in the oven, string beans, red wine, local Greek sesame candy with thyme honey, and rakomelo.
Information
Visiting the monastery of Zoodochou Pigis (1690) in Sikinos is worthwhile. The monastery is located close to the center (Chora), at the top of the hill and it offers wonderful views of the sea.
They say that the nuns used to hide people behind the high walls of the monastery when they were exposed to pirates. Walk the paved courtyard and photograph the panoramic views stretching in front of you.
